Kidnapped by the Pirate: Gay Romance - Keira Andrews

“You are no man’s lesser. Least of all mine. And the love I have for you is like no other.”

For those that know me well and know my favorite MM books, then you are aware that "A Forbidden Rumspringa" is one of my all-time favorite MM Romances. I have read it countless times and while that is a trilogy, for me the first book is where my love gravitates.  And because of that book, I have read nearly everything Keira has written. There are several out there that I have still not gotten to…damn time and all these new releases.  So when this book was released I was most intrigued and when my fellow BRers decided to give this one a go, I needed no further push.

And just wow.

It is very hard for me to say that Keira may have topped herself with this one but Keira may have topped herself with this one.  This was unbelievable.  The writing is by far the best I have seen from her and while Isaac and David will always be my favorite, I cannot help but place Nathaniel and Hawk right there beside them.

They panted, noses touching, chests heaving. With a groan, Nathaniel unhooked his legs from Hawk’s waist, Hawk helping to ease him to his feet. Neither of them was steady, and they remained leaning against the shelter of the tree.

"Only you,” Nathaniel whispered.

There are sentiments used in every romance and yet this was a new one for me that was so captivating and spoke so perfectly to this couple.  “Only you.” is definitely one I will remember and associate with them for a long time to come.

I highlighted so many scenes…from those with wit and humor to those with just all our heart.

Hawk jerked his head up, and then—there. Along with an incredulous laugh, Nathaniel spied a true smile, twin creases in his cheeks, the wrinkles around his blue eyes fanning out, teeth gleaming white, but not with a feral edge. No, it was all gentle and genuine, and Nathaniel imagined he was the only one gifted that sight.

I mean, seriously?

There was not one thing about this entire book that did not work for me.  The sexual tension between them mounted beautifully and the love that blossomed between them was just unbelievably heartwarming.  And while both of these men have had their difficulties, their histories were so amazingly crafted that their strong character worked perfectly with each other.  I adored the teasing nature of dear Plum.  He was so witty and charming and ultimately just swept Hawk right off his damn feet, gold tipped boots and all.

And I know this is trivial…but my heavens…I love the stories in which Keira choses situations and or time periods in which condoms and conventional lube is non-existent. The animalistic and forbidden aspects of these relationships are just perfection.

I cannot wait to reread this one again and again.  I have no doubts it will remain a favorite for years to come.  And like with "A Forbidden Rumspinga" the only thing that could make this better would be a narration with Spencer Goss. I have said for a long time that he would match up so well with Keira...I hope one day this indeed becomes a reality.
